What Makes This Trip Special

The unmissable experiences and landmarks on this tour.

Key Monastery

The largest and most photographed monastery in Spiti, perched at ~13,500 ft and still an active centre of Buddhist learning.

Tabo Monastery

Founded in 996 CE and called the Ajanta of the Himalayas — ancient murals and caves set against snow-dusted mountains.

Dhankar Monastery

A cliff-top gompa that was once the capital of Spiti, with sweeping views of the Spiti-Pin river confluence.

Kibber Village

At ~14,200 ft, a year-round village and prime snow-leopard habitat for winter wildlife photographers.

Chicham Bridge

Asia's highest bridge, spanning a deep gorge between Kibber and Chicham — a mandatory photo stop.

Langza

Spiti's fossil village with ammonite fossils in the rocks and a giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley.

Hikkim Post Office

The world's highest post office at ~4,400 m — mail a postcard home from the roof of the world.

Komic

One of the world's highest motorable villages at ~4,587 m, with a remote gompa and raw high-altitude silence.

Gue Mummy

A 500-year-old naturally preserved mummy in a small monastery near Gue.

Pin Valley National Park

Snow leopard, Himalayan ibex and blue sheep country — surreal white landscapes in deep winter.

Chitkul

The last inhabited village before the Indo-Tibetan border, framed by snow and the Baspa river.

Kalpa

Apple orchards and direct views of the Kinner Kailash range, with the famous Suicide Point viewpoint.

Kaza

The winter base of Spiti at ~12,000 ft — the only town with fuel, ATMs, medical help and mobile signal in the valley.

Travel Guide

Winter Spiti Valley Tour — A Complete Snow Travel Guide

The Winter Spiti Valley tour is one of the most searched winter trip packages in India — and for good reason. This 8-night, 9-day Winter Spiti Valley circuit takes you from the snow-dusted apple orchards of Kalpa to the frozen waterfalls of Chitkul, the last inhabited village before the Indo-Tibetan border, and deep into the cold-desert valley of Spiti when it is at its most magical.

Watch the Spiti River wind through Kaza under sub-zero skies, stand before the thousand-year-old Key and Tabo monasteries wrapped in snow, walk across Asia's highest Chicham Bridge, send a postcard from the world's highest post office at Hikkim, and chase fresh snowfall across the Pin Valley National Park. Whether you are planning a Spiti Valley winter road trip from Delhi, a budget winter escape from Mumbai or Bangalore, or simply searching for the best Himachal winter tour package, this fixed-departure group tour covers everything — winter Spiti Valley itinerary, heated homestays, all meals in Spiti, Volvo transfers, permits and an experienced mountain guide — at just ₹17,999 per person.

Unlike the summer circuit, the Winter Spiti Valley route runs through the all-weather Shimla – Kinnaur – Spiti road, so you can safely travel to Spiti Valley in December, January and February even when the Manali – Kunzum pass is closed. Our 4x4 SUVs with snow chains, daily weather checks and gradual altitude gain via Kalpa and Chitkul make this one of the safest and most affordable winter Spiti tour packages available.

This Winter Spiti Valley itinerary is built for photographers, first-timers and seasoned mountain travellers alike — quiet snow-bound monasteries, frozen rivers, starlit sub-zero nights around a wood-fired stove, and the rare chance to spot a snow leopard in Kibber. Read on for the complete day-by-day plan, places covered, cost, best time to go, packing list and answers to the questions travellers ask before booking a winter Spiti Valley trip.

What is included in the ₹17,999 per person Winter Spiti Valley package cost? Your fixed-departure group tour price covers Delhi–Shimla Volvo bus transfers, a 4x4 SUV through the Spiti winter circuit, 8 nights of stay (1 night Kalpa, 1 night Chitkul, 1 night Tabo, 2 nights Kaza and 2 nights on the Volvo), all meals from Day 2 dinner to Day 8 breakfast (pure-veg and Jain options available), Inner-Line and monastery permits, an experienced mountain guide, a basic medical kit and driver allowances. There are no hidden charges — the only extras are personal expenses, adventure activities and any Christmas/New Year surcharge. Triple-sharing is the default; double-sharing and single-occupancy upgrades are available at an added cost, and we run fixed departures every Saturday from Delhi through the winter season.
